M46A, Of French design which was offered to the sport flying community in 1980, when home built aircraft was at its height of popularity. It is a tractor, 3 wheel tail-dragging bi-plane designed for a 22 HP engine (an air cooled motor that one could salvage from a lawn mower) to carry a 212 lb pilot at speeds up to 107 MPH. Principally of wooden construction, it utilized wing warping instead of ailerons for lateral control. Wingspan is 18 feet and 15 feet long and has a ceiling of 13,000 feet approx. It consists of about 50 full sized blueprints for all aspects of construction and assembly, including hard wares. Although all wording and dimensions are in French, the English translation accompanies text. It also comes with a complete wood package, containing all principle wood species in special dimensions for completing this aircraft, which today would qualify under experimental aircraft VFR ratings. Much of this kit has already been assembled to include the basic fuselage, rudder, tail fin, stabilizer and elevator. Most of the ribs for the 4 wing members are made and so are the composite box spars. The remaining wood supply to complete the craft also remains. Engine and propeller are not included so you will have to supply your own. Even the gas tank and fittings are included in the blue prints as well as landing gear etc. Meant to fulfill the need for an ultra light aircraft which could be built at home. Also includes all jigs and forms used in shaping wood members for assembly. This airplane was most popular in Europe and only a few were assembled and actually flown here in America. It is now an antique and very scarce. Finish her up and fly it yourself, I'm sure you will be on the news. All original, shipping is likely to be about ,000 dollars domestically...a proper quote will be provided to the winner. A low estimate of 0 is listed presently. Of course you can come and pick it up yourself and save the freight.
